For years, I had battled with my weight and the health issues that accompanied it. High blood pressure, fatigue, joint pain, trouble sleeping, depression—these were just some of the struggles I faced daily. As a working parent juggling a full-time job and raising kids, I often felt overwhelmed by life’s demands. The thought of prioritizing my health seemed impossible amidst busy schedules and family responsibilities.
So many nights I would get off of work, driving through traffic to get my kids from school and I dreaded the thought of going home to cook, making meals for picky kids and a picky dad at that! I hated having to plan and prepare food, trying to figure out what to make that would make both my kids happy and in the end it ended up being fast food. Burgers, fries, soda, fried chicken, pizza, chicken nuggets, anything and everything I could find that came with less stress and a drive thru!
I’ll be honest; there were times when I doubted whether I could ever achieve my goal of losing weight. The journey felt daunting, and the temptation to give up was always lurking. However, as I watched my kids grow up around me, the reality hit hard—I needed to make changes or risk leaving them without their dad far too soon.
I was tired, always sluggish, irritable, upset, depressed. This whirlwind of struggles was a daily grind and the depression I felt made everything else more pointed. I had to make changes. This final push came when I was on a work trip out of state I had booked an AirBnb and believe me when I tell you, it was a nightmare! What looked like a beautiful, relaxing getaway bookended by a work training, turned into a small bedroom with a (really) mini fridge, a bed and a bathroom. I lived in this tiny space for two weeks. I had no access to the rest of the house and the long awaited pool and hot tub were nowhere to be seen!
This was actually just the catalyst I needed. I took this as a sign ansd an opportunity. I went to Walmart and I got fresh produce and good sources of protein and nutrients. I read everything I could get my hands on regarding nutrition and I devoured it all.All of this time and energy (when I was not in training) is how I created “The Fresh Path” and this is the system I am offering you.
With this realization came a commitment to personal accountability. It wasn’t about being perfect but rather about making consistent choices that aligned with a healthier lifestyle. Through healthy eating habits and small lifestyle changes, I began seeing improvements not only in my physical appearance but also in how I felt mentally and emotionally.
Over time—and with dedication—I lost over 30 pounds! This transformation has been nothing short of life-changing; my energy levels soared, joint pain diminished, and for the first time in years, I felt vibrant again! Most importantly, I’m now able to keep up with my kids at playtime instead of sitting on the sidelines due to exhaustion.
